What you decide to carry along with you in the end is purely your choice. Many of us have found the right mixture / weight ratio for
what we like or need to bring to a match.
To start off, you'll need a good gun bag. I've seen everything from gym bags to wagons. A gun bag should be lockable and sturdy enough
to stand up to the abuse of traveling to matches and then being dragged and dropped numerous times.
Ultimately a good bag that is designed specifically for IPSC shooting is the best. Designed to hold most everything with the shooter in mind.
The bag that is most commonly copied, for good reasons, is the Green Mountain Sports competition bag. All other bags out there are an off-
shoot of this bag.
Cost can be anywhere from $50 up to $250 on a custom IPSC gun bag.

Gun Bag Contents
Listed below are some common contents of a range bag, pretty much everything is optional but believe me someday you will kicking yourself
for not having it in your bag.
Some items are common sense, some require explanation :
Brass Ammo / Bags - I buy these mesh bags at Wholesale Sports. They are good because they are light, and stretch to good capacity.
Also when you get your brass back it has dirt, sand, and crud and these bags allow that to be shaken out. Very cost effective and
very handy. Good for loaded ammo or brass.
Bag Locks - I've given up on trying to keep keys for locks. My memory is failing, so I've switched to combo style locks. These little
Master Locks come in handy for locking gun bags and gun cases. No more keys!
Shower Cap - No I haven't lost my mind. These little guys can be found
at any hotel. What are they good for? Well if you need a good gun cover in a pinch these work wonders and are cheap. Helps keep sand, grime,
and dust from getting into your precious firearm. Especially good for those windy days on a sandy range.
Aspirin - Ya I know what your thinking. No this isn't for handling the
night before. A definite must as we all get headaches every now and again. No we can't ask them to keep the noise down on the range.
You can make friends very easily by just having this in your bag.
Proper Gun Storage
Storage of firearms is a delicate subject these days. As serious competitors we should lead by example and properly store our
firearms. Ammo should always be stored locked and separate from the firearm unless you have a vault. Do the right thing, store your gun(s) properly.
