Too many other things on my "want to buy" list so it's time to let this one go... I sincerely don't want to sell this rifle but it just doesn't get shot nearly enough and it should go to a good home where it will get the use it deserves.

The rifle has fired exactly 243 rounds of SA 7.62 x 51 and is in mint condition... it even still has some of Springfield's factory grease on it...! I still have the box that the rifle came in and will include it at no extra charge.

The ammunition includes 1,017 rounds of SA 7.62 x 51 ball in 6 sealed 140 round battle packs, 1 opened 140 round battle pack (still contains 140 rounds in 7 sealed 20 round boxes) and 37 rounds in 2 opened 20 round boxes... all in the original ammo can which is included, here again, at no extra cost.

The mags are 5 steel 5/20 rounders and the 1 factory 5 round mag than came with the rifle... included are 50 five round stripper clips.

It's honestly hard to believe it is. It doesn't look that short. Is that the issue? or is it res by name?

Semi-auto with a 16" barrel = restricted... I think the demarcation point is 18.5". Preaching to the choir here I know, but barrel length as a criteria for rifles is ridiculous... it's not like it's any easier to conceal. Oh, is that a SOCOM in your pants...!?

I've read lots about guys chopping their Norinco / Polytech M14's down to 18.5" to shorten them up while staying in the non-restricted space. "Regular" length (22") Springfield M1A's are non-restricted...
