In lieu of the cancelled IPSC match August 27-28 a few of us are thinking of utilizing the available ranges and hosting a USPSA match on those same days.

It would be a 2 day club-level match with 8-10 stages; 5 long stages and 5 medium/short stages.

Set up would be from 8-10:30(ish) and the shoot starting at 11:00(ish) on Saturday. The stages would be modified after day 1 for day 2. Day 2 would start at 8:00 (8:30 first shot) and be wrapped up and outta there by 4:00pm (hopefully).

Assuming that we are able to get the ranges, would you participate?

Same rules as the match this weekend - No setup/take-down labor = no score.

Thanks.

I should also note that we setup 6 moderately elaborate stages today starting at 8:00am and had them ready to shoot by 10:30am. All of the shooters were finished by 2:00pm(ish). We were then torn down, cleaned up and on the road by 3:30pm... Even with a little BS'n at the end.

we can't find a match director for an IPSC Qualifier but we can find one for a USPSA match? something doesn't seem right here.

Hi Walter,

Had I known that anyone in the membership could've been a MD for IPSC, I would've put my hand up. However, I assumed that one had to be qualified/certified by IPSC-AB in order to do so. I based my assumption on my limited experience competing at IPSC-AB events and seeing how official and well organized each of the admin positions were/are. Now that I know that I do not need any specific certification or qualification to be an MD at an IPSC match, I'll be looking forward to doing one next spring/summer - after I Co-MD a match or two.

We are willing and able to put the USPSA match on provided we can get the range; albeit short notice.
